Taegen turns 3!

My little boy turned 3... I can't believe how big he is, and how much he is growing every day. Saturday morning we started out the day by eating birthday cake and opening presents, of course. Taegen got lots of fun things including books, a baseball hat, a razor with a helmet and pads, a new car seat, and a jersey. A special thanks to my parents and Jared's as well for their contribution to these great gifts. We then had decided to go to a place called Linvilla Orchards, which was sooo much fun. Its like a really big farm that they also turned into a great place to go with lots of fun activities. We were lucky and ended up going on apple festival day. We got there and started out the day by getting T's face painted. He picked out his own face which was "Big Green Dog". I think it suits him quite well. He sat there so good for her to paint and didn't even move a muscle, I wish he would sit that good to get his hair cut!!!

The finished product... scary huh?
We then moved on the the pony. Jared and I both thought he would start to cry, but nope not this big boy, what has happened. My little boy is so brave!

Then was the hay ride pulled by a tractor. Taegen of course loved this, they drove through a lot of their farm and showed you where everything grows including apples, pears, peppers, squash, blueberries, ect. It is a huge place.

They also have this huge playground, which of course is almost like heaven for Taegen. He was running around almost not knowing what to do because there was so much to choose from.

Jared and Jade keeping an eye on Taegen.

And we finished off the day by of course eating even more unhealthy food. Here Taegen is eating his cookies like a dog, you have forgot that he is the "Big Green Dog".

And what would a day out be with out the fried food, although I can't remember what these are called, sorry.

We had sooo much fun. This place has so much to offer and we will be going back.

Just wanted to show my cute family... minus the cutest of course! J/K
Jade, Jared, and Taegen
Jade and Jared, she is really getting quite the personality. She is already becoming a little bit drama, way more than T was. I guess that is the difference between a boy and a girl. I love them both though!!!

Idaho/Utah

Well we returned home from our trip last week and are glad to be home. Jared spent a month in Loma Linda, California to do an away rotation in Radiation Oncology. He loved his time there but of course missed us like crazy!!! After me, Taegen, and Jade were done in Colorado we spent the rest of our time in Idaho and Utah. It is always nice to come back and see friends and family, we have so much fun and did a lot of fun things while we were there.

Its always nice to have a little extra help with the kids, especially now that I have two! My mom is great to help bath Jade, and my dad was even helping bath Taegen for a few nights. We were able to meet my grandparents and go to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was nice to see them and visit and also nice for them to meet Jade. Here Taegen is riding the horse, he really should be farm boy. We took him the demolition derby while we were in Preston and he LOVED it!! He could not take his eyes off the cars crashing and the big tractors.
My dad, mom, grandpa, grandma, Jade, me, and Taegen at Texas Roadhouse in Pocatello.

Of course Taegen loves the four-wheeler. My dad was sweet enough to take him on many rides.

While we were in Salt Lake, my father-in-law took Taegen to a couple of baseball games. My son loves baseball and had a blast. The second night they went they were lucky enough to see fireworks, and what you ask would make Taegen do this...

the BIG SCARY BEE!!!!! Whatch out, he'll getcha!

We were also able to go and see one of Jared's good friends. This is actually the guy that Taegen is named after. He has been a great mentor and friend of Jared's and invited us up to his house. Taegen was able to run and play in the water, fish, and just be a boy. Oh, and did I mention he did it all naked. Thats right, they let their yard flood with water just for Taegen and he took full advantage.

Karen and Leon Peterson, Jared, Jade, Taegen, and me.

And of course the family picture that Scott has wanted forever! Jared, Jade, me Lori, Taegen, Brett Melissa, Joey, Trevor, and Scott.

Jade is the first girl in the Johnstun family and I think they like it. Jade and Lori enjoying the outdoors.
Thanks a ton to both Jared and my family's for all they do for us and letting us come and crash at their places for a while. We love you

The last of Pueblo

I am finally posting the last of our trip to Pueblo, which was so much fun. I loved the time we got to spend with my sister and her family, and the kids had a ton of fun too...when they were getting a long. My sister said it best, they have a love-hate relationship, but at that age what else do you expect.

Taegen and Halle hugging goodbye.
Taegen and Kyla hugging too! Taegen enjoying the long 10 hour ride back to Salt Lake City, good thing for dvd players.

Kyla, me, Halle, and Jamie after eating lunch at Red Lobster. This was after they blessed sweet little Caleb at church.

Jade, me, Caleb, Jamie, and my mom after they blessed Caleb. Doen't there church look cool!

Halle, Taegen, Jade, Kyla, Ethan, and Caleb after the blessing. What cute kids!!

We went to a ton of parks, here Taegen is hanging on for dear life on the zip line. Luckily Casey was there to catch him!

Taegen escorting Halle in to eat at Johnny Carino's.

Thanks a ton Jamie and Casey for letting me and my kids come and crash your party. We loved every minute of it and had an absolute blast.

Hotel Livin

My sister had her baby and I was lucky enough to be able to come out and visit her and her family. Jared is spending a whole month in California for two away rotations in Radiation Oncology and we were heading to Idaho anyway, so we decided to make a detour and spend a week in Pueblo, Co. Taegen is loving getting to spend time with his cousins and is having a blast. Here Taegen is making himself comfy at the hotel. Halle, Taegen and me, having fun in the hot tub.

Taegen jumping in the water with a little help from mom. He is not a huge fan of the pool but will let me carry him around for a little bit at a time.

Ethan, Taegen, Kyla, and Halle having fun.

2 weeks of BLISS!

Jared had two weeks off between his third and fourth year of medical school. This has been the most time we have spent together since undergrad, it was soooo much fun!

We decided to take taegen fishing, although we didn't catch anything we sure had a lot of fun. And of course Taegen did fall in about half way through which he was not very happy about, but what would a fishing trip be without someone falling in the water!

Jared just happened to get an infection in a tooth which happens to have a root canal(didn't know they could get infected, isn't that the point of a root canal)? Anyway the infection started the night before his final test for third year, we ended up getting him on some pain meds and antibiotics and about 5 days later they pulled his tooth out. He was very swollen and in a ton of pain when he took his last test, not to mention high, but he did awesome anyways! Good job babe!

We happened to go the park a lot during Jared's time off. Feeding geese bread is one of Taegen's favorite things to do.

Jared is becoming really good at jugging two kids, looks like a pro!

A close up of Jade! This is exactly how I sleep, both arms up and very comfortable. We are very sad Jared went back to school, but are soooo excited this is his last year. We are looking forward to moving on with our lives... YEA!
